Mintues:

Meeting opened by Edmund Waskewitch and introduction of guest Gordon Willier. Elder Tom Heavenfire made a motion to adopt the minutes of March 22, 2003 seconded by Martha Verigan.

Irene Morin apologized for not getting the Kehewin minutes out on time.

Shirley Waskewitch mentioned that the name of the event is "Gathering of Waskewitch Decendants" (not reunion). Edmund Waskewitch confirmed that this was decided at Frog Lake meeting in January, 2003.

The minutes of Kehewin meeting were reviewed and amendments made.

Louise Halfe gave a verbal report and reminded the group that we should get a written letter from Kehewin Chief & Council of their response in writing regarding the use of the powwow grounds for the gathering. Irene will follow up and send a letter.

Items tabled for the next meeting are; donations of 200 CD's; no report from the treasurer; Frog Lake security report; purchasing/selling shirts as a fundraiser;Pig raffle - cost of butchering; donation of buffalo; finance committee' support for hand games tournament - Peter Trottier; portable units; Societies Act; website; Gathering form; APTN reporrt; proposal for casino donations.

No further discussions on outside concessions - no outside concessions allowed. Family photos - each family will pay for their own photo shoots. Ray Cardinal will have a price list for the next meeting.

Nominations opened for co-signer of a bank account. Linda Prentice is the co-signer of all the cheques. It is also recommended that all money should be moved to Alberta and to open an account - CIBC being one bank suggested.

Concessions/Fundraisers - The Powwow dates for Onion Lake are for the 3rd week in July, Frog Lake on the 1st or 2nd week in August, Kehewin on the 3rd week in August, Enoch on the 2nd week in July, Sarcee on the last weekend in July, Hobbema on the 2nd week in August. Martin half will check with Saddle Lake Powwow committee for their concession fees.

Irene Bridge suggested we can sell Family Trees to family members. The research committee can work on this.

Security Issue - outside security perferred - get quotes from security companies. Tom Heavenfire will check with a company in Hobemma.

Edmund Waskewitch - re: membership cards...suggestions made on the giveaways....suggests a jamboree in Onion lake. The hall rental cost is $500.00. Raymond Cardinal suggests to contact Tullaby Lake for their charges. Colors for poles, yellow-medium blue-red-green- each family bring own colors.

Discussion on equipment - rental of sound system about $250.00, free hall rental but pay $100.00 for clean up. Tom will check with David Wildcat - Allan Morin about equipment - Gordon Willier has a PA system for free, no cost.

Expenses that would be incurred - power, outhouses, buffalo and pig butchering, PA system, Ray's work, honorariums, gifts for Elders.

Tom informed the group that four days before the killing of the buffalo, there should be a Pipe Ceremony and on the day of the butchering.

Ray cardinal was paid $160.00 for the work on the membership cards.

The Research Committee will do the posters and send them out to different districts. They will also set up their meeting.

The next meeting will be at Hobemma at Tom/Evelyn Heavenfire's home on Sat., may 23 - 03.

The amount of money collected is $300.00.
